KSB Commercial Bank CJSC has become a partner of the Teach for Kyrgyzstan – Zamanbap Mugalim public charitable foundation, whose mission is to advance quality education and develop a new generation of teacher-leaders in Kyrgyzstan.
As part of the partnership, the bank has provided financial support to the program, helping ensure quality education opportunities for 859 students of A. Kazakbaev Secondary School in the village of Chym-Korgon, Kemin District, Chuy Region.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Kristina Chervonova, Chairwoman of the Management Board of KSB Commercial Bank CJSC, and Asel Bektenova, Co-Founder of Teach for Kyrgyzstan – Zamanbap Mugalim. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for long-term cooperation and joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s human capital.
“We are convinced that sustainable improvements in education are only possible through the combined efforts of the government, businesses, and civil society. It is especially important for us that the program is supported by partners who share the values of quality education and equal opportunities for every child.
We are grateful to the KSB Commercial Bank and its principal shareholder, Petram Foundation, for supporting the program. This partnership is a vivid example of the important role socially responsible businesses can play in driving long-term positive change.
We hope this example will inspire other businesses to become partners in educational transformation and help create more opportunities for young teachers and schoolchildren across the country,” said Asel Bektenova, Co-Founder of Teach for Kyrgyzstan – Zamanbap Mugalim.
“For us, supporting the Teach for Kyrgyzstan – Zamanbap Mugalim program is an investment in the future of Kyrgyzstan. We firmly believe that quality education should be accessible to every child, regardless of where they live.
By supporting innovative teachers and educational initiatives, we contribute to building a strong and sustainable society,” said Kristina Chervonova, Chairwoman of the Management Board of KSB Commercial Bank CJSC.
The program support is being implemented by KSB Commercial Bank CJSC together with its principal shareholder, Petram Foundation, a Swiss foundation and one of the largest Swiss investors in the Kyrgyz Republic. The partnership reflects the shared commitment of both parties to the principles of sustainable development, social responsibility, and investment in human capital.
About Teach for Kyrgyzstan – Zamanbap Mugalim
Teach for Kyrgyzstan is part of the global Teach for All network, which operates in more than 60 countries worldwide to address educational inequality and improve learning outcomes in underserved communities.
In Kyrgyzstan, the Zamanbap Mugalim program has been implemented since 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The program is focused on attracting a new generation of teacher-leaders who can serve as inspiring role models for children, enhance the prestige of the teaching profession, and contribute to the development of a modern educational environment. At the heart of the initiative is the belief that a child’s future should not depend on their place of birth or their family’s financial circumstances.
The program brings together talented professionals known as zharatmans (from the Kyrgyz word meaning “creators” or “changemakers”), who work in schools and help children unlock their potential. Currently, 46 zharatmans are engaged in 12 schools across the Chuy Region, teaching and supporting 8,733 students.
